Til Papdi | Til Patti Recipe

Til papdi or Til Patti are caramelized sesame seeds that is made in almost every Maharashtrian home on Makar Sankranti. This is one of the most known Maharashtrian sweet, made throughout the country. Easy & quick, this Til Patti can be made with least efforts and very few ingredients. As we use only 3 ingredients in the making of this Til papdi: white sesame seeds, sugar & clarified butter, each one retains its own flavor, letting you enjoy the essence of all. Make sure you turn off the flame before adding the sesame seeds or else the papdis would turn out too hard.

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes

Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

Total time: 15 Minutes

Ingredients:

1) 1 cup white sesame seeds

2) 1/4 cup sugar

3) 2-3 tsp ghee

Method:

Dry roast sesame seeds in a heated pan.

Roast for 5-6 minutes on low flame.

Once the sesame seeds starts to pop up take away from flame in a plate.

Grease a rolling board and rolling pin with ghee.

Heat sugar in a same pan and stir till it melts.

Once the sugar melt, switch off the flame and add roasted sesame seeds, mix it well.

Take small portion of mixture on greased rolling board and roll with rolling pin.

Til papdi is ready to eat.

Store it into airtight container.

How to make Til Papdi step by step with images:
