Shingada Pithacha Sheera

Shingada Pithacha Sheera is a halwa/sheera recipe made of shingada i.e. chestnut flour. Made during Navratri vrat, this is an easy and quick recipe. Like most of the halwa/sheera recipe, this too, is very simple and needs minimum ingredients. Unlike most of the halwa recipes, the Shingada sheera needs no milk. The secret to perfect Singhada Sheera is to continuously sauté. Incase left unattended, this dish tends to burn, so it’s always good to be by its side until you turn the flame off. Delicious and healthy, this farali Shigada Pitachi Sheera is similar to the Rajgira Halwa I have already posted.

Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Serves for 2.

 

Ingredients:

1) 1 Cup Shingada Flour

2) 2 Cup hot water

3) 3/4 Cup sugar

4) 3/4 Cup Ghee

5) Dry fruits as per your choice (Almonds, Cashew Nuts, Raisins)

6) Cardamom Powder

 

Method:

Heat the ghee in a pan on medium heat.

Add Shingara flour and sauté till it becomes brown and aromatic. Do this on low flame, if not, the flour

tends burn.

Keep water to boil, once the water comes to boil switch off flame.

Once the flour get roasted and brown add boiled water and stir well to avoid lumps.

Once the mixture become thick add sugar and mix well for sugar to combine.

Keep a lid and cover for 5 minutes.

Now add Cardamom powder and all dry fruits.

Serve hot or warm.
