Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 30 Minutes
Serves for 2.
Ingredients:
1) 1 Drumstick
2) 1 cup Toor Dal
3) 2 Kokam
4) 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
5) 1 tsp Malvani Masala
6) 1 tsp Oil for tempering
7) 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
8) 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
9) Pinch of Asafoetida
10) 4-5 curry leaves
11) Salt to taste
12) Chopped coriander leaves
Method:
Wash and soak dal in sufficient water for half an hour.
Boil the dal in three cups of water along with turmeric powder and cook until mushy.
Heat oil for tempering, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida.
Add chopped drum stick, salt and mix well, to this add 1/2 cup water.
Keep a lid and let it cook for 10 minutes. Do not overcook the drumsticks.
Add malvani masala, cooked dal and kokam.
Stir well.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
