Potato Bhaji | Batata Bhaji

Batata Bhaji or Potato Bhaji is an easy to make Maharashtrian dish mostly made during fasting days.

This Batatyachi Bhaji is a heavy and filling recipe seasoned with crushed peanuts and grated coconut.

The potatoes and peanuts add to its flavor and the seasoning adds to its aroma. Though an Upvas

Recipe, this batata bhaji doesn’t make you compromise on the taste.

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Serves for 2.

 

Ingredients:

1) 2-3 Boiled potatoes

2) 5-6 green chilies

3) 1/2 cup peanut crush

4) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

5) Coriander leaves

6) Grated Coconut

7)  1 tsp sugar

8) Oil to tempering

9) Salt

Method:

Heat oil for tempering add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped green chilies.

Once chilies are done add potato cubes, salt, crushed peanuts and sauté  for another 5 minutes.

Add  grated coconut. Keep a lid and let it cook for another 5 minutes on medium heat.

Add sugar  and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
