Panchamrut or Panchamrit, also known as Charnamrit is a holy mixture of five ingredients namely milk,
yogurt, jaggery, honey and ghee. The name Panchamrit is a combination of two words: “Panch” which
means five and “Amrit” which means nectar of God. Known as Panchamrutham in South India, this is an
essential element of every Hindu Pooja. With numerous health benefits, this is a recommended dish for
pregnant women as its promotes healthy fetus. When consumed in right proportion, it helps in proper
functioning of brain, nourishment of skin and also promotes hair growth. Basil leaves are added to this
sacred drink before being offered to God as naivedh or bhog.

Ingredients:
1) 1 cup Milk
2) 1/2 fresh yogurt
3) 3 tbsp crushed jaggery
4) 1/2 tbsp sweet honey
5) 2 tsp ghee
6) 2 Basil Leaves (Tulsi Leaves)
Method:
Take the whisked curd in a bowl add milk, jaggery, honey and mix well with spoon.
Add the tulsi leaves and offer to Lord Krishna.
