Matarche Vade in Marathi

Serves for 2.


Ingredients for Stuffing:
1) 1 Cup Green Peas

2) 1 Chopped Onion

3) 4-5 Curryleaves

4) 1 tsp Cumin Seeds

5) 1 tsp Red chilli powder

6) 1 tsp Turmeric powder

7) Coriander Leaves

8) Ginger garlic paste

9) 2 tsp oil

10) Salt as per taste


Ingredients for Batter (Cover)


1) 1 cup Gram Flour (Besan)

2) 2 tsp Rice Flour

3) Turmeric Powder

4) Salt as per taste

5) Oil for Frying


Method to make stuffing:

Heat little oil and add green peas and statue for 2-3 minutes, remove it and keep aside.


Grind peas and make a paste.


In a heated oil add cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, paste of green peas and salt mix well on a low flame for 5 minutes.


Remove from flame and keep aside to cool.

Make equal sized balls of the above mixture.

Take a gram flour in a bowl add turmeric powder, rice flour, salt and enough water and whisk to make a batter of coating consistency and keep aside.


Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.


Deep above peas mixture ball in the batter and deep fry till golden.


Drain and place them on an absorbent paper.


Serve hot with coconut or garlic chutney.
