Basundi Recipe |  Mango Basundi

Basundi with the fruity twist of mango gives you the yummy and delicious mango basundi.

When its season of mangoes, we try to include the king of fruits – ‘mango’ in almost every recipe.

Mango basundi is a seasonal dessert. Basundi naturally flavoured and coloured with the mango pulp is liked by everyone at home.

We use the mango pulp in this recipe. The garnishing with sliced dry fruits gives a perfect and luxurious look to the dish.

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Total Time: 25 Minutes

 

Ingredients:

1) 1  1 litre Full cream Milk

2) Sugar 1 & 1/2 tbsp

3) 3/4 Cup Mango Puree

4) Almonds, Cashew Nuts

5) Saffron or Saffron syrup

 

How to Prepare Mango Basundi:

Heat milk in heavy bottom pan. Heat till it comes to a  boil.

Simmer the heat and let the milk thicken.

Keep stirring in between.

When the milk reduce to 1/2, add  cardamom powder, almonds,  nuts and sugar.

Remove from heat.

Wash the mangoes and peel them.

Chop the peeled mangoes.

In a blender add chopped mangoes and blend them until smooth.

Let the milk cool completely.

Add mango puree and  saffron or saffron syrup.

Keep into refrigerator for few hours and serve chill.

You can garnish with dry fruits and serve as dessert after lunch or dinner.
