Kobichi Bhaji or Patta Gobhi Sabji is a Cabbage Stir Fry recipe made in
Maharashtrian Style. This dish is a mildly seasoned unlike most of the dishes
in Indian cuisine. This is a common dish found during Ganesh Chaturthi at
Maharashtrian homes. Made with minimal spices, this Patta Gobhi Sabji lets

Ingredients:
1) 2 cups cabbage finely chopped
2) 1/2 cup chana dal
3) Salt to taste
4) 1 tbsp oil
5) 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
6) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
7) Pinch of asafoetida
8) 2 green chillies finely chopped
9) 4-5 curry leaves
10) Turmeric powder
11) Pinch of sugar
12) Chopped coriander leaves
13) Grated fresh coconut for garnishing
Method:
Soak chana dal for at least 1 hour. Wash and drain chopped cabbage.
Heat oil in pan add mustard seeds and wait till it crackle add cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and chopped green chillies.
Add soaked dal and saute it.
Add chopped cabbage, salt , turmeric power and mix well.
Add little water and keep a lid, reduce flame to medium and cook covered for 5 minutes.
Remove the lid and mix well and cook for another 10 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, grated fresh coconut and serve with varan bhaat or chapati.
