Khada Pav Bhaji | How to make Khada Pav Bhaji

I am yet to meet someone who doesn’t like Pav Bhaji! Pav Bhaji, the king of Mumbai Street foods is one of the top street food in India. People throughout the country cherish the taste and flavor of Pav Bhaji. So today I am sharing a not so famous version of the ever-loving Pav Bhaji, that is the Khada Pav Bhaji. Khada Pav Bhaji lets you enjoy the chunkiness of veggie while also giving you the tangy flavor of Pav Bhaji. This recipe is equally delicious to the creamy textured Pav Bhaji, so it is a good change for all the Pav Bhaji lovers out there. Loaded with veggies and butter, this tastes heavenly, especially when made within the comfort of your home.

So, let’s get started with Khada Pav Bhaji Recipe;

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes

Cook Time: 45 Minutes

Total Time: 60 Minutes

Serves for 3

Ingredients:

1) 2 Potatoes

2) 1 cup chopped cauliflower

3) 1 cup green peas

4) 3 large onion

5) 4 medium sized tomatoes

6) 2 capsicum

7) 1 carrot

8) 1/2 beetroot

9) 2 tsp ginger garlic paste

10) 2 tsp pav bhaji masala

11) 2 tsp red chilly powder

12) 1 tsp coriander seeds powder

13) 2-3 tbsp. amul butter

14) 1 tbsp. oil

15) Salt to taste

 

Method:

Rinse all the vegetables well.

Finely chop the vegetables, and boil vegetables except onion, capsicum and tomatoes.

Heat oil in a pan, add onion and sauté till onion turns translucent.

Now add chopped capsicum and sauté it for 10 minutes. No need to make the capsicum very soft.  Then add ginger garlic paste.

Add chopped tomatoes and fry them till they become soft and mushy, this process will take 5- 7 minutes.

Now add Pav bhaji masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well.

Now add the boiled vegetables and mix well with the masala. Add water, salt and mix well.

Lower the flame and let it cook for 10 minutes. Pour water just enough to bring to a consistency.

Check the salt and adjust as per your taste.

When done, add beetroot puree and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
