Garam Masala Recipe

Garam Masala in Marathi

Garam Masala Ingredients :

1) 1 tsp Black Peppercorns

2) 1 tsp whole cloves

3)  3-4 bay leaves

4) 2 green cardamom

5) 4 blck cardamom

6) 1-2 grated nutmegs

7) 1 cinnamomum cassia

8) 2-3 star anise

9) Cumin Seeds

10) Dry coriander



Mix all ingredients and keep it in sunlight for 2-3 days.


Heat non stick frying pan over a low to medium heat.

Add 1 tsp whole cloves, 3-4 bay leaves, 2 green cardamoms and the seeds of 4 black cardamoms, black perppercorn and break up the cinnamomum cassia into the pan.

Stir it for about 30 seconds.

These will release the aromas within the spices.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the grated nutmeg. Stir constantly to keep from burning. It will begin to brown .

Transfer all spices into a plat and allow to cool.

Grind above mixture and make a fine powder.

Store freshly made garam masala in an airtight glass container it will keep for 3-4 months.

You can use it to any vegetable. It will taste very spicy nice it will release the nice aromas from your sabji.
