Pepperoni and cheese provide fat and some protein to ground the body’s surge of serotonin, a hormone that promotes sleepiness and tends to flow freely after you eat a meal that solely contains carbs. An amino acid called tryptophan, which occurs in many protein-rich foods, helps the body produce serotonin.

Why Do These Straight Men Want Nothing to Do With Women?
- This story is republished from MEL Magazine. MEL aims to challenge, inspire and encourage readers to drop any preconceived notions of who they’re supposed to be. A few weeks ago, I reached out to the moderator of the primary site devoted to Men Going Their Own Way — a man known as the “Keymaster” — for comment on a recent story about man caves. I assumed a community within the online manosphere dedicated to “preserving a man’s sovereignty at all cost” would be fond of any kind of masculine refuge. I was wrong. “Bullshit,” the Keymaster told me by phone. “The whole man-cave concept is shunned by MGTOW because the idea is that your wife gives you permission to make one room in the house — the basement — your own. It’s condescending. The man cave makes a mockery out of itself. Like Al Bundy, or one of those unfortunate television-dad morons who apologize to their wives for everything. Those guys need a man cave.” MGTOW (pronounced “MIG-tau,” at least per everyone I spoke with) is a worldwide social phenomenon and online community of heterosexual men who have chosen a lifestyle that avoids legal and romantic entanglements with women at all costs. A Man Going His Own Way values self-ownership above all else, believing that he — and only he — has the right to decide what his goals in life should be. He refuses to surrender his will to the social expectations of women and society since he believes both have become hostile toward him. Some MGTOW make a pledge of celibacy. (“Cut off the dick supply and raise awareness against the millions of chicks that use men and disrespect our natural role.”) Some engage in sex with prostitutes exclusively. (“The only honest women.”) Others sleep with tons of women
- they’ll just never marry them. (“Even if a man has only three lovers in his entire life, he is getting more than his own grandfather — who had to marry her first.”) The media has tended to cover MGTOW by mocking them. For example,VICE’s profile last year, entitled “This Group of Straight Men Is Swearing Off Women,” featured a photo of a fat guy in a homemade MGTOW superhero costume, protesting outside a feminist conference, carrying a placard reading “FEMINISM IS A REFUGE FOR WOMAN’S SEXUAL FAILURE.” An article on Return of the Kings, a site owned by Roosh Varek, an American blogger known for his controversial writings and advice on the pickup community, deemed MGTOW the “creeping cult of male loserdom”: “Men Going Their Own Way will never appeal to anything more than the rejects of American society because it’s a philosophy that denies the fundamental nature of human beings.” Others simply dismiss it as a cult. Whatever it is, a Google trends search reveals an expanding movement that can’t simply be cast aside as a handful of angry misogynists watching porn and playing video games in their parent’s basement. Most MGTOW will tell you it’s more of a philosophy than a movement, punctuated with a serious helping of ZFG (“zero fucks given”). MGTOW are unapologetically selfish and, unlike men’s rights activists, aren’t looking to change the status quo, but instead trying to opt out of marriage, fatherhood, cohabitation and/or whatever else society expects of them — like a flock of indifferent ostriches. Smitty the Great One, another MGHOW, employed a slightly more combative analogy in his description to me: “MGTOW are the Viet Cong of the gender war. The men’s rights activists don’t like us because, while we agree with them on some things, we won’t be their cannon fodder in a war we know they can’t win. Pickup artists hate us because they can’t make money off us. Feminists hate us because we won’t fight them. And women hate us because we won’t give them what they want.” Motivations for men who decide to go their own way vary, and the discourse is at times unevolved. I found the last three weeks I spent in the MGTOW Manosphere to be, for better or worse, reminiscent of 6th-grade recess — playful, petty and short-tempered. Make no mistake: These guys are bullies. Or as they put it, “Turning betas into men is a group effort, no one is in charge … and a good amount of time is spent shooting flaming arrows at each other for no apparent reason.” Immature? You bet. Or as RASman put it: Them — “You live in a basement, play video games and watch porn all day!” MGTOW — “I need a battery for my remote.” Them — “You need to man up!” MGTOW — “Nope.” Them — “You’re selfish!” MGTOW — “Yep.” It’s not hard to draw parallels between MGTOW and the Trump phenomenon: In both cases, men are yearning for a time (in the past or in the future) when they come first, and they blame other groups for their perceived loss of status. Both types are highly suspicious of the media and take pleasure in assailing it. The response to my request for interviews ranged from skeptical disdain to “go fuck yourself.” “When you come to this site, the first thing you see is a man walking away. Does he look like he wants to do an interview?” Old Sage asked me. “By going our ‘own way’ we’re saying we don’t subscribe to any single set of beliefs or behaviors,” said RASman. “So to get an accurate interview, you’d have to interview 16,000 of us.” The Keymaster agreed, explaining that one MGHOW may want to build a cabin in the woods and live off the grid while another may want to move to Thailand with nine girlfriends and twenty kids — but no wife. “Still another may opt for surrogacy and be a dad but not a husband,” he says. “Another may blend with urban life like anyone else and simply refuse a marriage contract or cohabitation.” One of the things that makes MGTOW uniquely positioned for massive growth is their policy of “Disorganized Resistance,” a phenomenon where independent groups or people come to the same conclusions and/or actions against others based on shared philosophies. For instance: The Keymaster may lord over the MGTOW.com forums, but he has nothing to do with the wildly popular MGTOW subreddit
- Spanish-language sites
- independent blogs
- and a seemingly infinite number of YouTube channels, Facebook pages and Instagram accounts. This isn’t the only way MGTOW are tough to pin down, according to Sarah Diefendorf, a Ph.D. candidate in sociology and instructor at the University of Washington. She believes MGTOW are actually rebelling against two different things: 1) A society they think privileges women more than men in virtually all institutions
- and 2) bad guys like pickup artists and ladies’ men who portray excess, toxic masculinity. “They somewhat brilliantly frame themselves as the overlooked good guys,” she explains. “Women, feminism and pickup artists are all the problems.” This way, Diefendorf says, they’re able to punt on having to unpack the many privileges that come with being a man in the U.S. today. Instead, they can say, “This isn’t me. I’m bowing out.” Despite their serious loathing of pickup artists, nearly all of MGTOW’s grievances relate in one way or another to what they believe to be a systematic gynocentric bias against men. They specifically point to… Feminist double standards: “Female sexuality should be open and embraced while male sexuality is violent and should be contained.”
- \sFalse rape accusations: “ ends in just a few minutes with little-to-no harm caused to the victim. Meanwhile, false accusations of rape have a long-term and much more devastating impact on the victim.”
- A corrupt family court system: “Despite all the rhetoric about ‘equal’ rights between the sexes, the gynocentric, misandrous bias of the family court system is illustrated by the raw data.”
- And finally, this old saw — women are dangerous drivers: “You wanna make women safer drivers? Take away the automobile! Or at least take away her cellphone and spray-paint all the mirrors flat black!”
Many people, including women, are of the opinion that males are receiving a raw deal in today’s society. As Helen Smith writes in the introduction to her book Men on Strike: Why Men Are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream — and Why It Matters,″ she used to consider herself a feminist, but she mistook feminism for equality between the sexes.″I used to consider myself a feminist, but I mistook feminism for equality between the sexes,″ she says.
Nowadays, it is associated with female privilege, and I feel that discrimination against males is every bit as awful as prejudice against women.Men are the ones that require justice and attention right now.″ In addition to family court, Smith — as well as many, many others — cites the following sources as evidence: When asked about the statement ″I think young children belong with their mothers,″ a poll commissioned by the Minnesota Supreme Court revealed that a majority (56 percent) of the state’s justices, both male and female, agreed.According to the results of the survey, 69 percent of male attorneys came to the view that courts always or frequently presume from the start that children belong with their mothers — an assessment that was shared by 40 percent of female attorneys. It was believed that all judges, at least part of the time, showed prejudice against dads by almost all of the attorneys (94 percent of the males and 84% of the women).
- Whenever individuals believe that their worries about unfair favoritism, such as this, are not being heard, they ″tune out and start doing their own thing,″ according to Smith.
- Or even worse.
- Men are eight times more likely than women to commit suicide following a divorce, according to several experts, and this is attributed to gender prejudice in family courts.
This statistic is exemplified by Thomas Ball.In June 2011, a 58-year-old man from New Hampshire burned himself on fire on the steps of the courtroom because he was ″tired of being tormented for being a male″ by the family court system, according to authorities.Lisa Wade, an associate professor of sociology at Occidental College, says that this disengagement might be understood in the context of ″man flight,″ which is a phenomenon that has occurred throughout history.″When women effectively integrate into a traditionally male domain, their increasing presence makes the domain undesirable to certain men,″ she explains.’In a way, we may think of partnerships as something that women are becoming increasingly empowered to shape.’ MGTOW might be an example of a group of guys who have decided that their profession has become too gendered and that they would no longer participate.″ Are you looking for another, possibly more startling case of male flight?
Cheerleading.During the later part of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century, cheering was seen as a highly macho sport, ″almost second only to the accomplishment of having been a quarterback.″ As a matter of fact, Dwight D.Eisenhower, Franklin Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan all got their start in politics by participating in cheering.During World War II, there was a significant increase in the number of women participating in this typically masculine pastime. In their efforts to retake their proper place on cheering squads after returning from war, males discovered that women had altered public perceptions of what cheering squads were supposed to look like.
- Male teenagers walked away from it as a result of their reaction.
- When it comes to the job, Wade says, ″we’ve observed similar trends: when women enter a profession, males leave it.″ Before Ellen Church was employed by United Airlines in 1930, for example, all flight attendants were males.
- That changed when a registered nurse called Ellen Church was hired by United Airlines in 1930.
- Following suit, other airlines followed suit, and by 1936, women had almost entirely taken over the duty of pilot.
- The same survey indicated that for every one percent rise in the number of women in the student body, 1.7 percent fewer males applied to veterinary school, according to the results of the study.
- A certain irony has been recognized in the fact that MGTOW’s technique is comparable to what feminists have been doing for the past 50 years, as some have pointed out.
According to Matt Forney on Return of Kings, the ″migtow″ reluctance to dealing with women ″has a less pleasant equivalent to extreme feminism.″ ‘Political lesbianism,’ according to hardline feminists such as Andrea Dworkin, was advocated in the 1970s, when feminists only engaged in sexual relationships with other women, regardless of their sexual orientation.Women who date males, according to Dworkin’s argument, are physically fraternizing with the enemy, since men oppress women, she argues.’Political homosexuality’ is something that certain’migtows’ may advocate in the future, and I wouldn’t be shocked if some of them do.″ ″Feminists have been saying for a long time what MGTOW is saying for a long time: that marriage is a poor bargain and that they will not participate in it,″ Wade continues.
- MGTOW is following in the footsteps of long-standing feminist traditions by declaring that this is not a bargain they want to be a part of.
- Unsurprisingly, the Keymaster is of the opposite opinion.
- ″Before making such a statement, you should research (or at the very least be aware of) the history of MGTOW.″ That which MGTOW is currently doing is the same as what MGTOW has always done.
- ″Way before the first ‘feminist’ even existed, there was a feminist movement.″ Considering that it is likely that we will be electing our first female president, I inquire of Keymaster about the impending election.
- I’m assuming MGTOW isn’t backing Hillary Clinton?
- ″I’m sorry, but there’s just no way,″ he says.
- ″For a variety of reasons.
For starters, she is not a person of high moral character.MGTOW considers honesty to be a value in and of itself. That’s not to argue that MGTOW will endorsing Trump is impossible. As you can see, voting is just expressing your willingness to be controlled. As a result, by casting your vote, you are expressing your desire to be ruled by you.
It makes no difference who you vote for.We at MGTOW are opposed to the notion of voting for any government!″ His remark took me by surprise: I hadn’t counted on hearing an anarchic rallying call.Wade, on the other hand, considers it to be more of a break from tradition.
MGTOW is pushing for something more than simply a withdrawal from female connections; they’re fighting for a certain form of masculinity that’s completely distinct from any other masculinities that have been influential in American history,″ says the author. The most obvious counterexample would be the caretaking masculinity: ″I’m going to be the breadwinner and take care of my family,″ says the individual.Alternatively, I intend to serve as a patriotic leader for my nation. It is they who reject and distance themselves from even the most well-known ideals of American masculinity.″
Social media is harmful to society!
The use of social media is detrimental to society.Yes, it is.Take a look at the folks who are on Facebook.
Consider the number of individuals who use Twitter.Take a look at the men with their iPhones. What evidence do we have that they have iPhones?Because they are texting and posting on social media while holding it in front of their faces.
- This is detrimental.
- While YOU may be spending your time doing other beneficial things, you shouldn’t be staring at a computer screen, clicking and talking.
More of A weapon than social network
All of the social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and the rest of the bunch, have one thing in common: they all allow for cyberbullying to take place.Anyone can do it, especially with the internet at their disposal.Even being harassed at school is awful enough, but when you get home and access your Facebook, you find that your messages are filled with threatening letters or threats that make you feel unsafe.
Due to the fact that most adolescents nowadays practically never notify their parents about what is going on in their life, the social networking site has provided a means for individuals to anonymously threaten someone without getting in trouble. To be honest, I preferred it better when we didn’t have all of this crap, and I am confident that the majority of people would agree.
It is leading society towards destruction
What does it mean to be sociable in the real world?According to the Macmillan Dictionary, being sociable is defined as being involved in circumstances and activities that need interaction with other people, particularly for the sake of enjoyment.*Repeat the key information.
* Good afternoon, Mr./Madam Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen.Thank you for your time. The subject of our argument is whether or not social networking sites are more harmful than beneficial. This assertion is accurate, in our opinion, as members of the positive team.
- Our first speaker discussed the harmful consequences that social networking sites may have on people’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being, among other things.
- This includes cyberbullying, the hazards of paedophilia, unlawful activities in which minors can become involved, as well as mental disease concerns that can arise as a result of the use of social networking websites.
- Specifically, I’ll be discussing how social networking sites are affecting society as a whole, and how you can help.
I will describe how our notions of what is ″social″ have evolved, and how this evolution is causing harm to our society.″Hi, my name is Melanie, and I’d want to introduce myself.″ It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.″Would you want to go for a cup of coffee?″ Our ideals have shifted since then. Now, being sociable is as simple as saying, ″Oh look! Some random stranger has become a buddy of mine!
″I have a very active social life.″ But do you really believe it?To put it another way, according to the description I provided at the outset, being sociable is defined as being in situations that need interaction with other people.Sure, you can be involved in a highly intriguing conversation or scenario with other people on social media, but where exactly are you while you’re engaged in that engaging conversation or circumstance? Are you at home by yourself? You’re on the bus, aren’t you?
- Are you alone in a restaurant, waiting for your boss, or with your date, or are you both alone?
- What about your pals, do you know where they are?
- What exactly are they up to?
- Consider the following scenario: you’re on a date.
- While sitting side by side, texting, you and your date are having a conversation.
- Whether you’re messaging each other or not is up in the air.
In either case, you’re engaging in behavior that we presently consider to be sociable, but in truth, you’re engaging in behavior that is antisocial. You’re acting in an unsociable manner. However, because we have altered the concept around societal issues, we may not always recognize them for what they are.
- In other words, by being ″social″ to a bunch of random people on Instagram or Snapchat, you’re eventually being ″unsocial″ in the real world, according to the hard facts.
- And it is in the actual world that things are decided.
- Digital worlds are short-lived, but the decisions you make here in the real world are long-lasting.
- Yes, there is a world outside of your computer screen.
Yes social media is easy to access and can find things for educational reasons but
Reading and booms are improving because books enhance your knowledge and even your memory spand because books improve your knowledge and memory spand.Every time you read anything new, your vocabulary grows.A true fact is that if you read for 20 minutes, your vocabulary will grow by 20,000 words!
Reading may be able to permanently halt the progression of Alzheimer’s and Dementia (mental disorders) as well as relieve stress from our shoulders.
Social media harm
Because of all of the harsh remarks and what others might say about you on networking websites, they cause a lot more damage.Individuals can be harmed by visiting websites that contain sexually explicit content, and people can hack onto your computer and find out where you reside.Social networking has wreaked havoc on many people’s lives today, mostly teenagers and young adults, and has become their primary source of income.
Yes because It reduces productivity.
It has a negative impact on productivity. Spending an hour a day on social media is equivalent to nine weeks of vacation time every year! It’s been nine weeks! That’s enough money to get through a couple of college classes. Some people spend twice as much time on social media as the average person. Consider what they could do, construct, contribute, or learn if they had that much time.
Social media can be good, but.
If you wish to interact with others, social media may be a valuable resource. The only concern is that it develops a habit of constantly monitoring their online status, which may be dangerous. Personally, I do not use any social media platforms, and I have found that I have fared far better than others who do use social media platforms.
Social media is a damaging site
Many people’s lives have been ruined by social media nowadays, particularly those of teenagers and young adults, and it has become their primary source of income. Many young people and teenagers our age have died as a result of social media. Some people have been influenced to live a life that is incorrect and hazardous as a result of this.
It has completely flipped our youngster’s worldview on its head, as well. Many people have lost their faith as a result of it.
It exposes one to the outside world
If you publish a photo of yourself on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, other people will see it and add you as a friend. As an instance, let’s say the person is a male and you are a lady, and his photo is attractive, you will want to provide him with all of the required information about your personal life so that the person will be able to get in touch with you. However, there is one potentially harmful thing we always wind up with: the guy who is either making fun of you with his buddies or tormenting you with every means possible.
I hate the internet

Christian Website GiveSendGo Hacked and Donor Information Published Online; Canadian Broadcast Authority Begins Going Through the List and Demanding That the Donors Explain Why They Donated to the Freedom Convoy
Several months after GoFundMe attempted to siphon over $10 million in contributed cash and divert them to organizations of their choosing – leftwing ″charities,″ no doubt – those who wished to support the Freedom Convoy truckers turned to the GiveSendGo Christian fundraising alternative to GoFundMe.The website was hijacked, and the visitor was sent to an other URL.The names and addresses of the contributors were disclosed on the internet.
After then, it was shared on Twitter. It should be noted that, despite the fact that Twitter purports to prohibit doxxing, it has allowed a leftwing discredited former Canadian shock-jock nobody to continue tweeting the contributors’ information without consequence. The National Review, the American Enterprise Institute, and Mitch McConnell are doing a fantastic job of preserving the tech monopolies against even the most fundamental legal changes. And now, according to Ezra Levant, the state media that Justin Trudeau pays for – and that is in his political pocket – is using the leaked dox files as a hit list to scare the contributors, according to the report.
- Ezra Levant (@ezralevant) is a writer and photographer.
- NEWS FLASH: Canada’s public broadcaster, the CBC, is searching through the unlawfully obtained information of GiveSendGo contributors and sending out emails to those who have donated, asking them to explain themselves.

The public broadcaster of Trudeau’s government is doxxing his political opponents. They’re setting them up for financial repercussions in the future. This is not journalism, any more than Der Sturmer or Pravda were journalism in their respective guises.PoliMath (@politicalmath) is a political mathematician. This is even worse than the Cambridge Analytica incident, in my opinion.
The use of stolen information to target civilians for political purposes is a moral abomination. The folks at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation who are doing this are the antagonists of the narrative. If someone is wondering, ″They’re only emailing interview questions, is that really that bad?,″ keep in mind that 90 percent of the contributors would be willing to participate in an interview if they were asked. All the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation would have to do is post an open question for donations – ″What motivates you to give to the Freedom Convoy?″ – and they’d receive hundreds of responses. This is precisely why they are utilizing the once-confidential donor list: they want to let the contributors know that ″we know who you are.″ Not to be forgotten is that Trudeau has just used the Emergencies Act for the first time in history, and he has threatened to use the banks to seize control of the protestors.
- One might deduce that they are supported by a group of individuals.
- And the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is delighted to serve as his Financial Stasi.
- This tweeter reminds out that California is the birthplace of all trends: The Southern Air Pirate (@AirPir Southern) is a Twitter account dedicated to aviation in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Keep in mind that something similar happened in California during the Prop 8 fight.
- The donation list was made public by the LAT.
- It was about 15 years ago when the precedent was established.
Despite the fact that it was not stolen data, issues about stifling expression were raised and dismissed with a wave of the hand.To be fair, Justin Castreau was upfront about who he was and what he did.I’m simply going to leave it at that for now.

Why You Should Never Eat Pizza Before Bed
Shutterstock Even though pizza is a delectable treat, grabbing a slice before night might be a prescription for disaster.According to the Huffington Post, eating a piece of pizza before night might cause acid reflux to develop.Acid reflux, according to Jonathan Aviv, M.D., occurs when the contents of your stomach rise up into your esophagus and neck and cause discomfort.
This is especially true if you consume meals with a high acidity level, such as pizza.Aviv went on to explain how digestion plays a significant role in acid reflux disease. In his opinion, poor digestion results in stomach acid, food, and drink not remaining in the same spot for an extended period of time.As a result, once you’ve finished your pizza before night, it will be much simpler to get it back up.
- Aviv cautions that it has the potential to enter the lungs and vocal chords.
- What many people don’t understand is that it takes around three to four hours for your stomach to completely empty of food.
- This may be avoided by simply sitting or standing immediately after eating, ensuring that the pizza in your stomach remains in your stomach.
Eating pizza before bed can disrupt sleep
Shutterstock It is possible that eating pizza before night will be unpleasant on your digestive system if you are lactose intolerant to a moderate or high degree.According to MedlinePlus, over 65 percent of individuals all over the world have difficulty digesting lactose beyond infancy. If you eat pizza before night, Erin Palinkski-Wade, RD, CDE, advises that you may get acid reflux (via Eat This, Not That!).
She claims that when you combine the fat in the cheese with the acid in the tomato sauce, you’re looking at a bad effect on your body that’s just waiting to happen, such as disrupted sleeping patterns. In other words, while the cheese on your pizza may be delicious in the moment, it’s probable that you’ll wake up in the middle of the night with gas, diarrhea, bloating, or a stomachache as a result of the cheese.Dr.Ronald Caplan tells Health Digest that not only will you get better sleep, but you will also be avoiding putting needless calories into your body.
- Besides being heavy in fat and carbohydrates, pizza, according to him, has the additional effect of keeping you awake in the middle of the night rather than sleeping.
- Even if you may still eat pizza for supper, it’s better to wait a few hours before retiring for the night to give your stomach time to digest your meal.
Why Do I Get Tired After Eating? Symptoms of Fatigue
After eating, you may get fatigue. We’ve all experienced it: that sleepy sensation that comes on after a heavy lunch. You’re stuffed and comfortable, yet you’re having trouble keeping your eyes open.
Why is it that meals are frequently followed by a sudden need to snooze, and should you be concerned about it?It is perfectly natural and not cause for concern if you experience a small bit of tiredness after eating in general. Many factors contribute to this drowsiness that occurs after a meal, and there are a few things you may do to reduce the drowsiness that occurs after a meal. You require energy in order for your body to operate properly—not only to sprint after your dog or go to the gym, but also to breathe and simply exist.
- This energy comes from the stuff we eat.
- Our digestive tract converts food into fuel (glucose) for use by the body.
- We get calories (energy) from macronutrients such as protein, which are stored in our bodies.
Our digestive cycle does much more than simply convert food into energy; it also causes a variety of physiological responses throughout our body.During this time, hormones such as cholecystokinin (CCK), glucagon, and amylin are released to increase the sensation of fullness (satiety), blood sugar increases, and insulin is produced to allow the sugar to move from the bloodstream and into the cells, where it is utilized for energy production. There are other hormones that, if their levels are elevated in the brain, can cause sleepiness, which is a fascinating discovery.Serotonin is one of these hormones.Melatonin, the second hormone that helps people sleep, is not released in reaction to food consumption.
Food, on the other hand, can have an impact on melatonin synthesis.Despite the fact that all foods are digested in a similar fashion, not all foods have the same effects on your body. Some meals might cause you to sleep more soundly than others.
Foods with tryptophan
- The amino acid tryptophan may be found in turkey and other high-protein foods such as spinach, eggs, cheese, tofu, fish, and lean meats like chicken.
