        Reviews for Peter Piper Pizza

The month of February 2020 If I had more stars to leave, I would! We took my girls to PP, and it was the finest experience of our lives.I normally worry up about my daughter’s birthday since it falls in January and it’s too cold to go outdoors anyhow. However, pp is so much cleaner and the food is so much nicer.

They also allow you to decorate to your liking; the only restrictions are that no confetti be used and that no outside food or drink be brought in (save for the cake). They also blew up our balloons for a charge after Party City estimated it would take 2-3 hours! We used to go on enjoyable days, but we won’t anymore.

read the entire review January 2020 is the target date.I’m not going to lie: the pizza isn’t very high-end, but it is rather excellent. The salad/pizza/pasta lunch buffet is reasonably priced, and I could see me bringing the kids here to entertain themselves while I disgrace myself at the buffet. It also manages to avoid having the ″dirty″ sense that you get when you go to Chuck E Cheese’s arcade.

        • In January 2020, I stepped into a really beautiful atmosphere where a football game was taking place.
        • I was worried that I would miss the game because it was my grandson’s 6th birthday and he was having a great time.
        • Thank you to the employee who was in charge of four birthday parties, including my grandson’s, all by herself; she did an excellent job, and I appreciate you sharing this wonderful occasion with me.

        About Us

OUR VERY FIRST PIZZA HAS BEEN SERVED On November 28, 1973, Anthony ″Tony″ Cavolo, a World War II veteran and native of Brooklyn, New York, launched the first Peter Piper Pizza location in Glendale, Arizona.Tony’s dream was to open a local pizza that would serve high-quality cuisine at a fair price in a welcoming environment for families.Tony appears in the first in a series of television ads that would run for more than two decades and feature him in his characteristic apron and chef’s cap, among other things. It wouldn’t be long before his ″come on over″ tagline became as well-known as the Peter Piper Pizza brand itself.

We launched our first restaurant in Tucson, Arizona, marking our first foray outside of the Phoenix area. Also in this year, we expanded our family restaurant experience to include games for our customers. In El Paso, we opened the doors to our first Texas Peter Piper Pizza location.

Currently, there are 49 locations throughout Texas. What a way to bring the year to a close! The notion of Peter Piper Pizza has gained enormous appeal among Baby Boomer households. On New Year’s Eve, we celebrated the grand opening of our 100th Phoenix location.

        • We launched our restaurant in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, just south of the border.
        • There are now 48 Peter Piper Pizza establishments in operation in Mexico.
        • Tony Cavolo, our founder, died away on July 8, 2006, at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of wonderful family reunions.
        • The Cavolo family is still in business today, owning and operating a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The introduction of Peter Piper 2.0 marked the 40th anniversary of our company’s founding.Everyday eating has evolved to accommodate the demands of Millennial families, and this is the next step in that journey.Peter Piper Pizza is expanding into new areas, including a re-entry into the Oklahoma City market, among others.

Even today, 43 years after it all began, Peter Piper Pizza maintains its commitment to ″made from scratch pizza″ (Tony would be proud!) as its foundation.

Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company declares bankruptcy

It was announced on Thursday that the parent company of Chuck E.Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza had filed for bankruptcy, making it the largest and most well-known restaurant firm to be affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The assets and liabilities of CEC Entertainment were valued between $1 billion and $10 billion, according to the company.According to the corporation, bankruptcy would be utilized in order to reorganize its balance sheet and renegotiate with creditors, which will include landlords and lenders.

The firm, which owns more than 600 Chuck E.Cheese sites and 120 Peter Piper restaurants, is controlled by Apollo Capital Management, which has been in discussions with the company’s management for several weeks about a potential reorganization.Even though less than a third of the company’s locations have reopened, the restaurants will continue to operate during the bankruptcy process.

CEO Dave McKillips said in a statement that the Chapter 11 procedure will allow CEC to improve its financial structure while it recovers from ″unquestionably the most difficult incident in our company’s history.″ When the coronavirus led states throughout the country to close their dining rooms in March, the chains reported a drop in sales of up to 40%.Chuck E.Cheese has had particular difficulties dealing with the pandemic because of its reliance on dine-in customers, particularly children playing games and families organizing birthday parties. The company is expected to have a lengthy road to recovery.

        • CEC owes almost $1 billion in debt, which was incurred as a result of Apollo’s 2014 takeover of the firm.
        • Since the beginning of this decade, the private equity group has been attempting to sell its stake in the company.
        • After planning an initial public offering in 2017, it struck a reverse merger agreement with Leo Holdings that would have allowed the business to go public in the following year.
        • That reverse merger did not materialize.

CEC’s huge debt burden has left it with little margin for error, which has resulted in a precipitous drop in sales and profitability since the beginning of March.Early this month, the business said that it had engaged outside consultants and that it had awarded retention incentives to senior personnel, including McKillips and President Roger Cardinale. As a result of the epidemic, some restaurant enterprises have declared bankruptcy, including the owners of Bravo Cucina Italiana and Brio Tuscan Grille, as well as Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes.

Over the next several months, more bankruptcy filings are likely to occur as lease and loan payments become due and private equity companies determine whether or not to reinvest in their assets. This item has been amended to incorporate a statement from the CEO of CEC.Members make our journalism possible by contributing to it.Become a Restaurant Business member now to take advantage of special perks, such as unrestricted access to all of our content and discounts on products and services. Please register here.

Say Goodbye To The Pizza Time Players: Chuck E. Cheese Retires Its Band

Cheese, a huge rodent puppet with a New York accent, and his other animatronic companions perform cover songs by singing and shaking their mechanical limbs in around 500 pizza restaurants across the United States.Since 1977, according to Tom Leverton, chief executive officer of the corporation that operates Chuck E.Cheese’s and its sibling restaurants, Peter Piper Pizza, the animatronic figures have been a part of the restaurants’ decor.

Children’s expectations of technology were ″much lower″ during the time, according to the author. In today’s world, children have such high expectations for entertainment that even the most advanced animatronics are unable to live up to those demands.Since then, in case you haven’t been to one, Chuck E.Cheese restaurants have become popular gathering places for families to eat pizza, french fries, and soft drinks before burning off all of their pent-up energy by playing video games and dancing to the Pizza Time Players.

It’s just that ″what we need to focus on is generating that enchantment for the next generation of students who are coming in for the first time,″ according to Leverton. If you’re scared that you might have missed Chuck E.and his buddies’ farewell performance, don’t be.A Pizza Time Players ″reunion″ performance may be closer than you think in the coming years as the mechanical bands are gradually phased out over a few years.According to Leverton, some Chuck E.Cheese fans have ″They acquired or discovered a large number of our old animatronics and assembled the entire band in their garage, programming the animatronics to perform along with their song.

Pistol Pete’s Pizza Was Where All The Kids Had Fun

Another episode of Once Upon A Time in Lubbock brings us back to Pistol Pete’s Pizza, a place where all the kids have a good time!Although the original location was at 4621 50th Street as long back as 1974, the Pistol Pete’s Pizza that I remember was at 50th and Slide Road, which is now the site of Jake’s and Bodyworks, where it is today. It was well-known for its inexpensive pizza and buffet, as well as video games and shouting children. The Lubbock branch first opened its doors in 1987.

Naturally, it included the usual video games and skee-ball, but it also had an indoor carousel, which was a nice touch.Later in 1990, the Rock aFire Explosion was added to the Lubbock facility, which was later extended.(You may be more familiar with them as the animatronics from Showbiz Pizza Place, but we’ll get to that later.) It was a screamer’s paradise every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with screaming youngsters, video game sounds, greasy pizza, and irritated parents in attendance.

Imagine a pizza joint down the street that is still in business today.) BUT IT WAS A LOT OF FUN!Aside from that, they employed huge playing cards to serve as your ″number,″ which would indicate when your pizza would be prepared.’Ace of Clubs, your order has been completed!’ It would be remiss of me not to mention Pistol Pete’s Boot Mug, which is officially licensed. The Lubbock facility was closed in 1994 as a result of a business restructuring.

        • Unfortunately, Pistol Pete’s was purchased by the Peter Piper Pizza corporation in 1995.
        • This post is dedicated to Lacha, Lacha, who passed away recently.
        • Thank you very much, Chris H.

Bob Brock and Creative Engineering launched ShowBiz Pizza Place in 1980, which was later abbreviated to ShowBiz Pizza or ShowBiz.The company was known for its family entertainment centers and pizza restaurants.Following the dissolution of Brock’s relationship with the proprietors of the Chuck E.Cheese’s franchise, Pizza Time Theatre, the story surfaced.

A huge assortment of arcade games, coin-operated rides, and animatronic stage performances were available in ShowBiz Pizza shops to keep customers occupied.Due in part to the surge in popularity of arcade games throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, the two firms established themselves as competitors and had initial success. The style of animatronics employed by the ShowBiz Pizza franchise set it apart from its competitors, who provided many of the same services as ShowBiz Pizza.

Following the bankruptcy of Pizza Time Theatre in 1984, ShowBiz amalgamated with the failing franchise in order to satisfy a previous court settlement stipulation, resulting in the formation of ShowBiz Pizza Time. The Chuck E.Cheese’s brand was introduced in 1992, and all ShowBiz Pizza locations were renamed.

        History

Nolan Bushnell, a co-founder of Atari and the man responsible for the creation of the first widely recognized video game, Pong, was in charge of a project for Atari in the mid-1970s to establish the first arcade-oriented, family restaurant with computer-programmed animatronics, which was successful. At a period when arcades were popular in places like bowling alleys and pubs, Bushnell wanted to introduce arcade games to a younger demographic. In 1977, Atari launched the first Chuck E.Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre in San Jose, California, which was the company’s first location.

When Bushnell left Atari in 1978, he bought the Pizza Time restaurant and formed a new company called Pizza Time Theatre Inc.to capitalize on the popularity of the new idea. The concept attracted high-profile clients, such as Robert L.

Brock, who is known for owning a large portfolio of Holiday Inn hotels, as Bushnell promoted the franchise in an attempt to expand into other regions. In 1979, Brock entered into a multi-million-dollar franchise arrangement with Pizza Time Theatre Inc., with the intention of opening as many as 280 Chuck E.Cheese’s facilities throughout 16 states in the coming years.Brock became aware of the fact that businesses like as Creative Engineering, Inc.

        • (CEI) were developing more complex animatronics shortly after, and he became apprehensive that competitors will arise with greater technology in the future.
        • At the time of the signing of the franchise deal, Bushnell had promised Brock that the company’s technology would continue to improve.
        • Brock, on the other hand, opted to terminate his deal with Pizza Time before to the opening of his first shop and negotiate a relationship with CEI.
        • It was on March 3, 1980, when the first ShowBiz Pizza Place opened its doors in Kansas City, Missouri.

80% of ShowBiz Pizza Place was owned by the Brock Hotel Corporation, while the remaining 20% was held by CEI, which was responsible for developing and producing the chain’s animatronics show, The Rock-afire Explosion.By September 1981, the firm had 48 company-owned stores and 42 franchisees in operation. In 1982, the firm relocated its corporate headquarters to Irving, Texas.

        ShowBiz Pizza Time, Inc.

Following the filing of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in 1984, Chuck E.Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre’s assets were acquired by ShowBiz parent firm Brock Hotel Corporation. The two businesses amalgamated, and the newly created corporation was given the name ShowBiz Pizza Time, Inc., which was a mixture of the names of the two prior corporations. Both restaurant franchises, on the other hand, continued to operate as distinct businesses.

In 1985, Richard M.Frank joined the business as president and chief operating officer, a position he has held since.Upon joining the company in 1986, he was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of its restaurant segment.

Frank implemented a number of improvements in response to consumer feedback in order to appeal to younger children and their parents.Increased lighting, a modified food menu, table service, self-serve fountain drinks, a reworked ride selection, and separate child sections were among the specific changes implemented, but relations between ShowBiz and Creative Engineering continued to worsen.Aaron Fechter, the founder of CEI and the inventor of The Rock-afire Explosion, would subsequently allege in 2008 that the crisis was caused by a desire by Showbiz to acquire CEI’s licensing and copyright rights to the animatronics show The Rock-afire Explosion.Fechter claims that he declined because Showbiz did not give monetary compensation for the rights to the movie.

        • ShowBiz possessed the power to program the characters and mimic their voices, allowing them to make modifications to the skits despite CEI’s rejection, putting CEI’s creative control in jeopardy.
