Pizza Hut vs Dominos: Which Pizza Place is Better?
In order to assist in answering this issue and putting an end to the long-running dispute, we have put up a comparison of Pizza Hut versus Dominos across nine criteria in order to establish which is superior.
1. Pizza
- The real pizza is the first and most important factor to consider when deciding who will be the winner.
- Taking an entirely objective approach, there are certain unassailable features of the situation.
- After consuming a large number of pizzas from both locations, consuming a Domino’s pizza just makes you feel fantastic.
- It’s the equivalent of scarfing down a container of Nutella or downing a magnum of champagne.
- Pizza Hut, on the other hand, has a fluffy, focaccia-like deep-pan foundation that is slightly harsher in flavor than Dominos’ sauce.
- Due to my personal preferences, I do not like a lot of crust on my pizza; I like to concentrate on the sauce, cheese, and toppings instead.
- Domino’s offers a superior overall pizza experience in terms of overall flavor and dough-to-toppings ratio than other pizza restaurants.
- Domino’s Pizza is the winner.
2. Size
- While Domino’s offers a superior flavor experience, Pizza Hut provides significantly larger quantities for the same price.
- Unlike Domino’s, which limits its pizzas to 13.5 inches in diameter, Pizza Hut provides 14 inches in diameter across a variety of selections including the Thin Crust, Cheesy Bites, and Stuff-Crust.
- Pizza Hut is the obvious victor when it comes to individuals who value bulk above substance.
- Pizza Hut comes out on top.
3. Toppings
- Pizza Hut and Domino’s, like the majority of pizza businesses, provide a variety of topping selections.
- Either restaurant can accommodate your needs, whether you like the typical pepperoni, barbecue chicken or ground beef or a completely vegetarian pizza.
- However, despite the fact that Domino’s is known for offering outlandish topping combinations, the winner of this category is determined by the mix of toppings.
- You could build a sandwich with peanut butter and a hot dog, which are both excellent on their own but may not taste the best when combined in one sandwich.
- Yum!
- Corporation owns Pizza Hut as well as Taco Bell and KFC, and as a result, Pizza Hut has collaborated with the other franchisees to develop innovative pizzas over the years.
- In order to compensate for this, Pizza Hut offers a better selection of toppings.
- Pizza Hut comes out on top.
4. Price
- Another important consideration in the Pizza Hut vs Dominos comparison is price.
- Domino’s has developed a well-deserved reputation for being far less expensive than all other pizza companies in general.
- Please understand that all selections are reasonably priced when compared to your neighborhood ma and pa pizza business, however the comparison is between these two franchises.
- Pizza Hut is often the most expensive option in the United States, and adding toppings will raise the price even higher, unless you order a customized pizza, in which case Dominos is generally still the most affordable option.
- Whenever you’re looking for a fantastic and reasonably priced pizza alternative, Domino’s is the undisputed victor.
- Domino’s Pizza is the winner.
5. Availability
- A dine-in option was available at Pizza Hut before to the outbreak, which should help it retain the top spot in this category.
- In my childhood, I recall going to my neighborhood Pizza Hut with my family and friends to enjoy a night of pizza and salad bar fare together.
- While the salad bar is no longer available and the number of dine-in options is limited, it was a unique experience that Dominos never provided.
- Pizza Hut presently owns and runs a little more than 18,700 outlets across the world, whilst Dominos only has 17,600 locations.
- Despite the fact that the statistics are reasonably similar, the answer to this question is determined by the number of retailers in your local region.
- Pizza Hut and Dominos restaurants may be found in abundance throughout the United States.
- The number of Pizza Huts or Domino’s restaurants in other nations, on the other hand, might increase based on the planned expansion of each firm.
- As a result, both are freely available, but there is no way to determine which is which because it is determined on a customer-by-customer basis.
- Winner is a tie.
6. Extras
- Extra dips, such as garlic or marinara sauce, are some of my favorite options when ordering pizza from Domino’s or Pizza Hut, among other places.
- Because Pizza Hut only offers a few dip selections that aren’t particularly tasty in comparison to Dominos, they fall short of their competitors in this category.
- Domino’s, on the other hand, provides a selection of delectable and hearty sauces that I purchase on a regular basis from them.
- In this area, Domino’s Pizza outperformed Pizza Hut by a large margin.
- Domino’s Pizza is the winner.
7. Upgrades
- It is true that Pizza Hut offers outstanding upgrading possibilities, despite the fact that the flavor may be deemed to be substandard.
- In addition to the Thin Crust and Cheesy Bite selections, Pizza Hut offers a range of crusts and deep pan pies to choose from.
- Furthermore, Pizza Hut was the first to introduce the delectable filled crust pizza, which has since been copied by every other chain.
- In recent years, Dominos has increased the number of crust and sauce variations available to customers, but the company still falls short of Pizza Hut in terms of selection.
- Due to the fact that it is the original, Dominos has also introduced a filled crust alternative, although it is not quite as delicious as Pizza Hut’s version.
- Pizza Hut comes out on top.
8. Special Offers
- When I was growing up, Dominos made Tuesdays the best day of the week because of their continual promotions, which made the rest of the fast-food business envious of their offerings.
- Their offers change on a regular basis, and they do not offer the same promos as they did when I was a kid.
- The good news is that Dominos always has some sort of discount or coupon available, which is especially true when ordering through the Dominos app.
- According on your preferences, these incentives might make your supper really inexpensive, with the chance of having leftovers for several days after you finish it.
- Dominos and Pizza Hut, as well-known national companies, continue to help their local communities in a variety of ways, including food drives, free pizzas, and a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
- Again, this varies depending on where you live, but as huge international corporations, both organizations continue to give back and make an effort to interact more with their local customers through social programs and other initiatives.
- While Pizza Hut also provides a few specials, the selection is not as broad as that of Domino’s or Papa John’s.
- Specials from both franchisees differ according on the town, city, state, and nation in which they are provided, with local and regional specials also available.
- For example, when Domino’s initially introduced the cheesesteak pizza, the city of Philadelphia served as the company’s test market.
- Domino’s Pizza is the winner.
9. Impact
- In specific ways, both restaurants have played a role in a profound cultural transformation that has occurred all across the world.
- As a youngster, the introduction of Pizza Hut’s dine-in restaurant option in a community where pizza was traditionally served as takeaway was a game changer.
- As an adult, I tend to order more from Domino’s because of the regional specialties and deals that are available to customers.
- Despite the fact that Pizza Hut offers dine-in service and the associated experience, Dominos continues to provide higher quality and taste pizza, as well as excellent promos, therefore I must lean more towards the latter in this area.
- Despite the fact that Pizza Hut is a far more well-known global brand, millions of customers choose quality, flavor, and promotions over the sheer number of locations.
- As a result, in the United States, Domino’s Pizza is the brand with the most influence.
- Domino’s Pizza is the winner.
Summary
- This was a difficult decision to make because I appreciate the pies hurled by both franchise locations, but Domino’s has a far stronger hold on my heart than Pizza Hut. At the time of my evaluation, I anticipated that the contest would be substantially less close than it really was. While Pizza Hut delivers larger pies and has more topping possibilities, Dominos provides a more tasty pizza at a better price point and value, as well as better extras and promos, and has had a greater influence on my life. Despite the fact that both businesses have a large amount of inventory, the selection in this area is depending on where you reside in the globe. In spite of the fact that I adored Pizza Hut as a youngster and continue to order their pies on occasion, there can only be one winner in this comparison of Pizza Hut with Dominos, and the victor is Dominos! What do you think of my selection and the grading scale that I used? Please leave comments if you agree or disagree with this post, or if you believe I should add something to it. Steps to take in order to conduct your own assessment are as follows: Order the identical pie from both Domino’s and Pizza Hut and compare the results.
- Take pleasure in every bite of each.
- Make use of the same grading scale that I described earlier
- Come return to this post and share your comments on each, along with a choice of a winning entry.
I’m looking forward to hearing about your favorites!

The Great Pizza Chain Buffalo Wing Off!
Clockwise from the bottom: Domino’s, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut |
- All three major pizza corporations (Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Papa John’s) provide their own take on Buffalo wings, so I decided to sample each of their offerings in order to determine which was the best (I was pretty sick of wings at the end of all this).
- Pizza Hut agreed to cover (at least a portion of) the cost of the wings, maybe in a fit of arrogance or great confidence.
- This time, let’s see what semi-logical, but yet utterly random categories I can come up with.
- The following were the pricing for the wings, which were pretty consistent: Papa John’s: $7 for 8 wings at Pizza Hut; $7 for 8 wings at Papa John’s In the case of Domino’s, the price is $5.99 for 8 wings if you purchase two orders of 8 wings (I chose this option and also purchased BBQ wings for a future comparison); otherwise, the price is $6.99 for 8 wings.
P is for Pizza Hut, D for Domino’s, and J for Papa John’s |
- Buffalo Burnin’ Hot Traditional Bone-in Wings from Pizza Hut (they also offer Medium and Mild), Hot Wings from Dominos, and Spicy Buffalo Wings from Papa John’s were some of the dishes that caught my attention.
- Price Even though the wings are the same price as they always have been, the sauce for dipping is included at no additional charge at both Papa John’s and Domino’s, however Pizza Hut charges you an additional 50 cents if you want one.
- If we include promotions, Papa John’s is still $7 for an order; Domino’s is down to $5.99 if you purchase two; and Pizza Hut has recently released an offer where their pizza is $6 per order.
- It’s a bit of a wash in terms of value.
- Domino’s requires you to purchase two wings in order to save a dollar, Pizza Hut is currently somewhat less expensive but does not include sauce, and Papa John’s does not currently offer any specials on its wings.
- Size The wings from Domino’s were by far the biggest and most meaty of the group.
- They were also noticeably heavier than before.
- The wings from Pizza Hut and Papa John’s were almost the same size and weight.
Domino’s Hot Wings |
- When it comes to sheer scale, Domino’s takes the cake.
- The wings appear to have been taken from mutant chickens with the ability to really fly.
- Texture The wings from Pizza Hut were surprisingly crunchy!
- These were the only ones out of the three that were fried (Domino’s and Papa John’s are both baked in the oven).
- They seemed to be either barely breaded or not breaded at all.
- It was already lukewarm by the time I had done acquiring all three wings from all three locations and snapping photographs, but the Pizza Hut wings were still crunchy, despite the fact that they were still warm.
- They were still crispy an hour and a half later; however, they were not as crispy a day later.
- When it comes to Domino’s and Papa John’s wings, the oven does not do them any favors.
- A lot of breading was used, and it was soggy throughout, resulting in a rather thick and mushy sauce-flavored coating to wade through before getting to the meat and cheese.
Pizza Hut’s Burnin’ Hot Buffalo Wings |
- The experience at Papa John’s was similar to Domino’s, although there was only a thin coating of wet skin to cope with, which was a tiny improvement over the latter’s wings.
- Crispy would always win out over soggy in my book.
- The texture of Pizza Hut wings is superior.
- Taste Pizza Hut is the only one of the three restaurants that provides several levels of spice on their Buffalo wings, and I opted for the spicier options they had available.
- The wing sauce had a nice level of heat to it; it made my nose run, but I wasn’t sweating and my eyes weren’t watering.
- I did, however, consume a small amount of milk.
- I wouldn’t describe them as ″burnin’ hot,″ but they had enough spice to satisfy most people.
- Heatseekers who bring their own bottles of spicy sauce, on the other hand, should definitely search elsewhere.
- The sauce has a light Buffalo flavor to it; there isn’t much in the way of seasoning, but there is a nice amount of tanginess and a touch of sweetness to balance it out.
- The chicken was moist, juicy, and tasty, and it made a great meal.
- It was the only one that didn’t taste like it had been reheated but rather had been freshly prepared.
- The chicken from Domino’s, in instance, wasn’t cooked all the way through to the bone (I’m presuming because of the bulk of the order), and while it was meaty, it lacked taste.
- The chicken from Papa John’s was thoroughly cooked (although in a smaller portion) and had a pleasant taste as well.
Papa John’s Spicy Buffalo Wings |
- The Buffalo sauce from Papa John’s was extremely acidic, lightly seasoned, and blessed with a mild kick; not enough to make the nose run, but enough to cause a little tongue burning on the first bite.
- Domino’s spicy Buffalo sauce was the mildest of the three, with only a hint of heat.
- At first, it appeared to be less tart than the other two, but after tasting it by itself, I was convinced.
- Because the sauce was sour on its own, it appears that the addition of skin and breading significantly reduces its sourness.
- In terms of sauce, they weren’t so dissimilar that I developed a strong preference for one over the other.
- Obviously, if you’re looking for something somewhat hot, Pizza Hut is your best bet, but other from that, it’s difficult to go wrong with cayenne peppers and vinegar.
- For the chicken, though, I’d recommend Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, and Domino’s in that order from top to bottom, from top to bottom.
- Overall Considering the fact that crispy fried wings will always win out over soggy baked wings, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Pizza Hut offers the greatest Buffalo wings out of the Big Three pizza corporations.
- Having said that, I can’t testify for the crispiness or bonelessness of their wings since I recall tasting Pizza Hut’s boneless wings (on a side note, I believe my spicy tolerance has increased since then) and they were just as mushy as Domino’s and Papa John’s wings.
- If you’re going to have something baked in the oven, ask for the sauce on the side so that you have the best chance of getting some crunch.
- I also tried and compared the BBQ wings from each of the restaurants, but I’ll hold that for tomorrow.

The Best Pizza Places with the Best Wings
1. Domino’s
- Speaking of pizza without mentioning Domino’s is nearly impossible – and who would want to do so?!
- It’s a dependable alternative because it has a wonderful menu with many of options and branches all throughout the United States.
- Domino’s offers three distinct types of chicken wings when it comes to chicken wings.
- The buffalo wings are a good choice for traditionalists.
- There are no breadcrumbs in this recipe, and the delicious coating is formed of butter and a cayenne pepper hot sauce mixture.
- Barbecue wings have an unique smoky outdoor taste that makes them stand out.
- Alternatively, a sweet, fiery, thick, and sticky mango habanero is available.
- Delicious!
- The only complaint we have about the Domino’s product is that the wings are occasionally a touch on the tiny size.
- Additionally, you may discover that increasingly bundles include baked fried chicken as a side dish.
- Domino’s, on the other hand, offers a wide variety of wings at a reasonable price, making it an excellent pick.
2. Pizza Hut
- Pizza Hut, another colossal pizza corporation, was established in Wichita, Kansas, in 1958.
- It already has approximately 20,000 restaurants in over 100 countries, demonstrating that it is successful in what it does.
- Chicken wings are taken seriously at this restaurant chain when it comes to chicken wings!
- Wingstreet takes its wing business so seriously that it has launched its own specialised wing brand.
- If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area served by one of the new branches, take advantage of the opportunity.
- They are devoted to providing tasty chicken wings to their customers.
- However, if you’re searching for wings to accompany your meal, the original Pizza Hut is still an excellent choice.
- When you combine them with one of the many pizza options available, you’ll have a delicious lunch for a very affordable price.
- There are a total of 12 different wing selections to choose from on the menu.
- Choose from serving sizes ranging from 8 to 48 pieces to share with your closest friends and family, or order enough to feed a large group.
- In addition, you have the option of choosing between bone in or bone out.
- Topping options are many when it comes to the pizza.
- You may have it ″naked″ for the purists, garlic parmesan, honey or sweet BBQ, sweet chili, or honey sriracha, among other flavors.
- If you like the traditional buffalo wings, you may get them in three different heat levels: mild, medium, and hot.
- There’s something here for even the most discerning wing enthusiast!
3. Papa John’s
- Papa John’s is yet another pizza franchise with a significant influence throughout the United States.
- In order to satisfy your craving for pizza and wings, there are over 3,000 establishments around the country.
- Boneless wings, often known as popcorn chicken, are considered by some to be the best you can get in the restaurant business.
- Others who know their poppers well suggest ordering the basic poppers and requesting the service to top them with garlic parmesan butter.
- Delicious!
- The popcorn chicken is breaded, and you may select from a variety of sauces, including barbecue, honey chipotle, and buffalo.
- The honey and chipotle sauce is a little sweeter than some other sauces, tasting more like a sweet barbecue sauce.
- Despite the fact that each piece of chicken is a reasonable size, it is quite juicy.
- As a result of being served in a box, they don’t have the steamed feel that some wings have.
- In addition, the pricing is competitive.
4. Little Caesars
- Thirteen consecutive years, Little Caesars has been named America’s Best Value Pizza Chain by the National Restaurant Association.
- In other words, if you’re on a tight budget, getting your wings here could be a wise decision.
- It is not necessary to cover the wings with breadcrumbs, and they are served with the bone still attached.
- Choose from a variety of flavors, including simple oven-roasted, garlic parmesan, BBQ, and buffalo.
- The buffalo sauce at this establishment is characterized as ″spicy.″ The wings are intended to be ″hot ‘n’ ready″ upon arrival.
- That implies they’ve been cooked and then put in a small plastic container until they’re needed for a particular order.
- It does make the flavor somewhat hit-and-miss, however.
- If your wings have been sitting for an extended period of time, they may begin to develop a steaming consistency.
- In addition, we’ve heard of instances where the sauce has been applied to the wings ahead of time as well.
- That’s not good for the texture or flavor of the food.
- However, if you collect your wings at the appropriate moment, they will be fresh and delicious.
- And they’re unquestionably friendly on your wallet.
5. Marco’s
- Pasquale Gianmarco, the company’s founder, immigrated to the United States from Italy when he was nine years old.
- His restaurants serve a delicious variety of pizzas, wings, sandwiches, salads, and brownies, among other things.
- According to a Market Force study conducted in 2017, it was named America’s Favorite Pizza Company.
- In any case, what about those wings?
- There are several flavors to choose from, including plain, spicy, tangy BBQ, sweet red chili pepper, and lemon pepper.
- Consequently, if you’re interested in trying anything new, you’ll have lots of possibilities.
- The specific menu, on the other hand, changes from shop to store, so check with your local Marco’s to see what’s available.
- The serving sizes are either 10 or 15 pieces per person.
- An extensive selection of sauces and dressings is available, allowing for even more taste combinations to be created.
- Sauces by the cup include ranch dressing, pizza sauce, jalapeño, jalapeno ranch, blue cheese, banana pepper, hot sauce, and sweet chili pepper, among others.
- Opening hours may differ significantly from one site to the next.
- Marco’s is open from 11 a.m.
- to 11 p.m.
- on weekdays and closes at 11 p.m.
- on weekends in most locations.
- On Saturdays and Sundays, the majority of branches are open until midnight.
6. Cicis Pizza
- Wings are not available as part of the buffet at Cicis.
- They are, however, accessible separately – and they are well worth the small additional fee to obtain them.
- They’re roasted in the oven, so they’re crispy on the exterior and juicy on the inside when you bite into them.
- In addition, they are served with a choice of four distinct dipping sauces.
- The buffalo choice is available in two heat levels: hot and moderate.
- Alternatively, honey BBQ or garlic parmesan are available.
- Furthermore, if you want your wings without sauce, that is quite OK.
- Instead, aim for the bare essentials.
- Previously, Cicis was only available for dine-in service, but now you may have their meals delivered to your door.
- In addition to the wings, there is a broad variety of pizzas to choose from, including thin crust, pan, flatbread, and filled crust.
- There’s also a fresh salad with a variety of dressings to choose from.
- Make an effort to save room for dessert.
- After that, you’ll get the opportunity to try brownies, cinnamon buns, and sweet pizzas.
- Yum!
7. Godfathers
- Godfathers Pizza has 30 locations around the United States.
- When it comes to wing preparation, it keeps things straightforward.
- You have the option of selecting either 10 or 30 oven cooked wings.
- They are sold without sauce, so if you want sauce, you’ll have to purchase it separately.
- There are, on the other hand, several options accessible.
- Keep it simple with BBQ, spicy sauce, or ranch dressing.
- Alternatively, experiment with flavors such as honey garlic, blue cheese, cheddar chipotle, Caesar, marinara, and creamy garlic.
- Salads, subs, panzerotti, and wraps are all available, as well as a variety of sides.
- Aside from that, you may get soft drinks in bottles to satiate your thirst.
8. Round Table Pizza
- Round Table Pizza has been in business for almost 60 years, so you can be certain that you’re in good hands when you visit.
- Its excellent pizzas are renowned for being loaded to the brim with a variety of toppings.
- However, it has a lot to offer those who enjoy wing cuisine as well.
- You have the option of ordering your wings with the bone in or without the bone.
- The former will result in a meal that is more succulent.
- The latter will spare you the trouble of having to maneuver around the bones while you eat.
- Wings can be ordered plain or tossed in a variety of sauces to suit your tastes.
- And what a variety of options there are!
- Mild or hot buffalo, BBQ, Polynesian, garlic parmesan, mango habanero, and lemon pepper are some of the options available to you.
- And why not serve it with a dipping sauce?
- Choose from three different sauces: blue cheese, creamy ranch, and red sauce.
- Servings are available in six, twelve, and twenty-four piece quantities.
- So whether you’re dining alone or with a group of pals, there’s a menu selection to fit your needs.
9. Pizza Inn
- Pizza Inn has 150 sites throughout the southern United States, with the majority of them in Texas.
- If you’re fortunate enough to have one in your neighborhood, it’s a terrific place to get some excellent wings.
- They are available in two varieties: boneless and bone-in.
- Surprisingly, the boneless wings contain significantly fewer calories — 50 calories per wing, as compared to 6 calories per wing for the bone-in variant.
- No matter which one you select, you may enjoy them either bare or with your favorite sauce.
- Sweet chili, acidic BBQ, and spicy buffalo are just a few of the options.
- They also come with a side of ranch dipping sauce as usual.
- There’s also a delicious selection of pizzas, salads, Stromboli, and pasta meals to choose from.
- The pizzerts, which are dessert pizzas with flavors such as fruit, Bavarian cream, and chocolate chip, are also a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Review: Domino’s – New Wings (2020)
- Domino’s just changed its chicken wing offering to be ″new and improved,″ but they haven’t really stated how they’re better, so I decided to give them a try to see if they’re any better than they were before.
- In order to get the best sense of the chicken itself, I went with plain, unsauced wings and opted with Hot Buffalo sauce as the accompanying dipping sauce to complete the experience.
- The 10 wings for $7.99 deal is part of the company’s wing update, and it is available when ordering for carryout.
- It represents a reasonable savings when compared to the other Big Four pizza franchises (Little Caesars, Papa John’s, and Pizza Hut).
- The wings are gently breaded before being roasted in the oven.
- Although the wings were baked, there was minimal crispiness to them, even when they were not covered in sauce.
- There were a few strange edges here and there, which is typical of baked wings.
- When bitten, the skin felt a little like jelly and quickly yielded to pressure.
- Fortunately, they warmed well and crisped up a little in the toaster oven without becoming dry.
- If I had to guess, I’d say the wings had been wet-brined at some time in their history.
- There was a pleasant, lightly-seasoned flavor from skin to bone, but the flesh was a little lacking in texture, despite its juicy nature and luscious texture (i.e.
- it may have been marinated for too long).
- The Buffalo sauce had a recognizable combination of tangy mild heat and was easy to recognize.
- I wouldn’t mistake it for anything else because it’s a very conventional design.
- Overall, Domino’s new wings have a nice, seasoned taste that is neutral enough to pair well with any sauce you choose, but they don’t do as well on the crispy front, which is not surprising given the company’s history.
- It is possible that they might crisp up better if cooked on a wire rack or if they were given a second baking session (although they also might just end up dry and not all that much crispier for it).
- When compared to the prior edition, they are more savory and are not as weirdly plumped as the previous version.
