Dal Methi in Marathi


20 Minutes  

Serves for 2.


1) 1 Cup of chopped fenugreek  leaves



2) 1 cup toovar dal



3) 1 Onion

4) 2-3 garlic cloves

5) 1 tomato

6) Coriander leaves

7) 2 Green Chilies



8) Turmeric powder

9) Salt


For Tempering:

1) 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

2) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

3) pinch of Hing

4) Curry Leaves



Pressure cook  toovar dal along with penuts for 3 whistles.

Wash and chop fenugreek  leaves.


Chop Onion, tomato and chilies.


Mash toovar dal and keep aside.

Heat a oil in a pan add mustard seeds once it crackle add cumin seeds,hing, curry leaves, garlic cloves , chopped green chilies and finely chopped onion. 


Saute till it turn into golden brown.


Add chopped tomatoes.

Once oil separated from tomato add chopped 
 fenugreek  leaves and let it cook for another few minute.


Then add the cooked dal, salt mix well and bring everything to boil.



Garnish with  chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut.
