Dadpe Pohe

Dadpe pohe is one of its kind Maharashtrian snack made traditionally since older times.

My mom used to make this perfect.

I am sharing with you my Mom’s recipe of dadpe pohe here. The most unique about this recipe is negligible cooking part.

It is different from the Marathi fame – kande pohe recipe.

In Marathi language, ‘dadpane’ means applying pressure.

So, this recipe derives its name from it.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 5 Minutes

Total Time: 15 Minutes

Serves for 2

 

Ingredients:

1) 2 Cups Thin Poha

2) 2 onions

3) 3-4 green chillies

4) 1 tbsp lemon juice

5) 1 tbsp peanuts

6) 1/2 tsp sugar

7) 1 cup grated fresh coconut

8) 1/2 cup Nylon shev

9) Salt as per taste

 

For Tempering:

1) 2 tbsp oil

2) 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds

3) Turmeric powder

4) 4- 5 curry leaves

 

Method:

Transfer poha into a bowl sprinkle little water keep it a side.

In a mixing bowl take chopped onion and salt, onion releases its own water.

In a pan heat 1tsp oil, add mustard seeds,  wait till it crackle add turmeric powder and add ground nuts and mix for 1 to 2 minutes till they get crunchy.

Add chopped green chillies and poha to onion.

Pour the tempered on poha,  grated fresh coconut,  lemon juice, salt, sugar and mix well.

Add nylon shev and serve it as breakfast.
