Preparation Time: 10-15 Minutes

Cook Time: 30-35 Minutes

Serves for 4 

Bhakarwadi is a popular Maharashtrian Snacks. Bhakarwadi is scrips, slightly sweet and spicy in taste.

Ingredients For Cover:

1) 1 cup Refined Flour (Maida)

2) 3/4 Cup Gram Flour

3) Turmeric powder

4) Salt to taste

5) 1/4 tsp asafoetida

6) Oil 1 tblsp

Ingredients For Stuffing:

1) 1/2 cup Grated Dry Coconut

2) 1 tblsp Poppy Seeds

3) Turmeric powder

4) Red chili powder

5) 1 tblsp Sesame seeds

6) 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder

7) 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder

8) 1/4 tsp asafoetida

9) Fresh coriander leaves

10) Salt to taste

11) Powdered sugar

12) Tamarind Pulp

Method For Cover:

Mix refined flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida and oil in a mixing bowl.

Add Sufficient water to make stiff dough.

Cover it and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Method for Stuffing:

Mix dry coconut, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and chopped fresh coriander leaves and salt

In a blender, blend above stuffing mixture.

How to proceed further:

Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out the dough to about 5” diameter.

Spread the tamarind pulp evenly onto the dough.

Spread some of the stuffing mixture evenly onto the rolled dough.

Know roll the dough into a flutes.

Cut into pieces.

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the pieces on a medium heat till golden brown and crisp.

Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
