Badam Burfi – Almond Katli Recipe – Maharashtrian Recipes

Badam Barfi in Marathi:

Preparation Time: 1 Hour

Cooking Time: 25 Minutes


1) 1 Cup Almonds

2) Sugar 2 & 1/4 Cup

3) 1/2 cup Milk

4) Cardamom Powder

5) Ghee for greasing


Badam Burfi recipe – Almonds, Sugar, Cardamom Powder

Milk for Katli Recipe


Badam Burfi recipe – Soak Almonds and peel-off the skin,


Soak almonds for 1 hr. Peel off the the skin by using fingers.

Grind almonds with milk or water to a smooth paste.

Do not use more water or milk, otherwise will not get burfi.

Grease a plate with ghee and keep it ready.

Badam Burfi recipe – Dissolved sugar in hot water

In heavy bottomed kadai, add sugar with 1/2 cup water and cardamom powder.

Keep a flame in medium and let dissolve the sugar.

When it start boiling stir it continuously. Let it cook till one string consistency.

Know add almond paste and mix in medium flame.

Keep on stirring to get properly almond paste mixed with the sugar syrup.

Now the mixture will be kind of transparent and bubbling everywhere.

After 10 minutes the mixture gets thickened.

Keep on stirring for 3-4 minutes more on medium flame.

When the whole mixture gets thicker, pour it over the greased plate and spread evenly quickly.

Let it cool down after 15 minutes cut into squares.

Its ready to eat.

1) Use heavy bottom pan and big sized spoon while preparing barfi.

2) Flame should on medium heat.

3) Use little water or milk while preparing almond paste.
