Aloo bondu In Marathi

Serves for 2-3.

1) 2 Medium size potatoes

2) 1 chopped onion

3) 6-7 chopped green chilies

4) 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves

5) 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut

6) 1 tsp sugar

7) Lemon juice

8) Salt as per taste


For Batter:


1) Gram Flour 1 cup

2) 1 tsp Rice flour

3) Turmeric  Powder

4)1 Pinch baking soda

5) 1 tsp red chili powder

6) Salt as per taste

7) Water

8) Oil to fry


Boil potatoes, peel and chop in to a small pieces.


Add onion, chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, salt, grated coconut, lemon juice, sugar mix it well.


Divide it and make small balls.


In a mixing bowl add gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and baking soda mix well and add sufficient water and make a thick and smooth batter.


Heat oil in a frying pan on medium high heat.


Dip the potato balls into batter one at a time making sure the potato balls are completely cover with batter.


Then, slowly drop them into the frying pan.


Fry till they turn into golden brown.


It will take 4-5 minutes to cook.


Serve hot with green or garlic chutney.
