White Vatana Usal

Usal is made in various forms and has many variations.

As the name suggests, white vatana usal is a recipe that is cooked with white peas.

Here, white peas refers to dried white peas. Safed vatana is available all year around and is a perfect choice when the fresh green peas are not available.

It is an occasionally made dish at my home when I get stuck up on what to make? We can also make ragda (Mumbai street snack) with this white vatanas.
