– Hey, everyone. I’ve got a new healthy basics recipe for you today that is perfect for these cold winter months, and it’s also Whole30 compliant.
Sweet potatoes come in many different shapes and sizes, but it’s best to use ones that are about the same size when baking them. They also come in many different colors, so you can jazz up your baked sweet potato recipe.
To start baking your sweet potato, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and grab a baking sheet. You’ll also want to line your baking sheet with parchment paper and give your sweet potatoes a good scrub with a vegetable brush.
Wash your sweet potatoes under the faucet and gently scrub all the nooks and crannies of the potato until it’s clean. Place them on a baking sheet and poke them several times with a fork or a sharp knife.
When the potatoes are almost done, I’ll prep my ingredients for the barbecue chicken-stuffed sweet potato recipe, which only requires a handful of ingredients and only requires one red onion, some fresh cilantro, and a bottle of barbecue sauce.
Sweet potatoes should be soft and steamy on the inside, so poke one with a sharp knife to check if they’re done. Add some butter, salt and pepper and serve as a side dish or serve with barbecue chicken.
