Methi ladoo

Methi is a beneficial ingredient used in many indian dishes It works wonders in controlling blood sugar level, thus being a diabetic’s saviour. Methi also tends to increase milk production in breastfeeding mothers, thus recommended post pregnancy. Though so beneficial, people tend to ignore including methi in their diet due to its bitter taste. So, I thought of sharing this easy sweet recipe where the bitterness of methi is reduced to almost nil.

This is the easiest & most delicious way of adding Methi/fenugreek to your diet. Just gnaw on one of these Methi Ladoos every morning to have your diabetes in control while also benefiting from the iron, vitamin B, Protein & Dietary fiber methi contains. Note: Though beneficial post pregnancy, this methi ladoo should not be induced by Pregnant women as methi induces labor. These Methi Ladoos are the best sweet you can ask for, as unlike other sweets, this would make you healthier.

So let’s get started with Methi Dink Laddu Recipe;

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

Total Time: 1 hour

Serves: 25 Pieces

 

Ingredients:

1) 1 cup wheat flour

2) 1/2 cup Methi seeds powder

3) 2 tbsp. Dink (Edible Gum)

4) 1 cup dry fruits powder (Almond. Cashew nut, dry dates)

5) 1 tbsp. aliv

6) 1 tsp cardamom powder

7) 1 cup grated jaggery

8) 1 cup ghee

Method:

Dry roast methi seeds on low flame.

Powder it.

Heat 1/2 cup ghee and deep fry Dink. Keep aside fried Dink and in a same ghee add wheat flour and roast till it becomes golden brown or till it leaves nice aroma.

Remove roasted flour in a pan.

Add remaining ghee aliv and sauté for 1-2 minutes remove from ghee and add Dry fruit powder remove and then methi seeds powder in a same pan and roast till it leaves nice aroma. Remove roasted flour in pan.

Remove roasted flour in pan.

Add grated Jaggery and 2 tsp water in a same pan to make a syrup.

Once all the jaggery melt properly add roasted methi powder, wheat flour, dry fruits powder, roasted aliv, fried dink and mix well altogether.

Make ladoo while mixture is hot.

If require you can also add melted ghee while making ladoo.

 

How to make methi ladoo step by step with images:
